According to 400 Devs, what are the best sites for learning code?!

44 Sites were the winners! Some well known and some...not so much! (or at least for me)

I asked on Twitter "What is your favorite site to learn programming?" and I got almost 400 answers.

Let's see what tech people say!

Most common answers:

  1. Google
  2. Youtube
  3. Stack overflow
  4. Freecodecamp
  5. w3schools

Very common answers:

  1. Geeks for geeks
  2. Pluralsight
  3. edX
  4. Coursera
  5. Udemy
  6. Udacity
  7. TreeHouse
  8. SoloLearn
  9. MDN Web Docs
  10. Codecademy
  11. Lynda / LinkedIn learning
  12. Codewars
  13. SkillShare
  14. Scriba
  15. Tutorials Point

Common answers

  1. FrontEndMasters
  2. Microsoft Learn
  3. The Odin Project
  4. WesBos Wes was one of my first learning sources too!
  5. OpenClassrooms
  6. Javapoint
  7. Stepik
  8. UIdev

  10. Code with Harry

Not so common answers

  1. She codes

Quite a few answers with sites in Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish too

I also got many answers specific to Python

  1. Real python
  2. Datacamp
  3. Python programming

And many people suggested

  • Localhost:8080, 127.0.0.1:3000

If a site doesn't belong to the Most Common/Very common section it doesn't mean that it's not good! Work with the sites that best suit your needs! For example, freecodecamp.org is an excellent choice for many people as it covers many aspects of programming, it's free and you don't have to download anything. Other sites are great too, it doesn't mean that they don't have quality learning paths or tutorials.
